Volunteers are a true blessing to our facility and an integral part of our family.  We are always looking for more volunteers to serve as “Friendly Visitors” to our residents and help us run our Computer Lab, Residents Thrift Shop, Bible Study Groups and other programs.

Gardening Program
Volunteers are needed to work with the residents in our Gardening Club during the outside months, to plant and maintain the outside gardens, weekly/daily. Hours are flexible.

Computer Lab
Aid is needed to provide personal hands-on assistance for residents with the computers in our newly updated Computer Lab. Volunteers will be responsible for teaching/aiding the residents with email, playing games, making greeting cards and utilize word processing applications to communicate with their families and friends. Knowledge of computer and keyboard use is necessary. Further training will be provided. Hours are flexible, seven days a week.

Scout Projects
The facility has potential for earning badges as well as Eagle Scout and Gold Award projects. Here are some possible projects:

  • Planting a butterfly garden in the courtyard
  • Repair/restoration of courtyard pergola
  • Planting of hedge row behind rear patio
  • Organizing art exhibits
  • Handcrafted gifts for the residents

Any scouts or leaders are encouraged to contact Karen Hogan to begin formulating any projects. High school students looking for community service hours can also volunteer.

Activity Assistance

Volunteers are needed to assist with special programming needs for residents. Volunteers would be responsible for the planning and implementation of your program offered 1 hour a week or every other week, on a regular basis. We will provide the materials needed as well as Aids during the program.

Special programs requested are:

  1. Knitting Program Specialist
  2. Arts & Crafts Specialist
  3. Run a Card (Bridge) game for the ladies

Friendly Visitors Program
The Friendly Visitors Program matches a volunteer to a resident on a one-to-one basis. The volunteer will visit and provide personal contact with a resident once a week for about an hour. Many of our Friendly Visitors simply talk, play games, take stroll, or assist in writing correspondence for the resident
